EMF Cable/Antenna Factors Tables
The cable loss and antenna factor data is stored in tab-delimited or
comma-separated value (CSV) format ASCII text files in non-vola-
tile memory. The instrument searches for these files in the following
location and file names:
BuiltInDisk\YBT250 EMF Antenna Factors.txt
BuiltInDisk\YBT250 EMF Cable Loss.txt
BuiltInDisk\YBT250 EMF Antenna Factors.csv
BuiltInDisk\YBT250 EMF Cable Loss.csv
The content is the same in both formats. Use CSV if you are more
likely to edit the tables in a spreadsheet program such as Microsoft
Excel. Use a text format if you are more likely to edit them in
Microsoft WordPad on the NetTek Analyzer Platform.
To use MS Excel to create a cable or antenna loss factors file:
1. In MS Excel, enter frequencies in column A and offsets in
column B.
2. Select File > Save As .
3. Select Text (Tab delimited) or CSV (Comma delimited) as the
file type.
4. Select OK .
5. Transfer the table files to the appropriate location on the NetTek
Analyzer Platform (as listed above).
When you make field strength measurements in any unit other than
dBm, the YBT250 automatically applies both the antenna and cable
loss factors for the current frequency. If you choose a frequency
between two entries in your table, the YBT250 interpolates between
the two offset values. If you are outside the frequency range of your
table, the YBT250 uses the offset at the nearest defined frequency,
and warns you that you are outside the table range.
