Clean fi ber
input
3. Advance the fi ber cleaning cassette or tape-dispenser
cleaner to expose an unused clean section of the
lint-free, dry, cleaning surface.
4. Lightly drag the clean, dry, surface of the cleaning tool
cloth against the male end-face of the
fi ber input for a
short distance (a centimeter or two).
5. Place the UCI adapter back on the cleaned fi ber
end-face.
Dust cap 6. When the module does not have a fi ber cable attached
to its input(s), attach the black dust-cap to prevent
airborne contaminates from lodging in the female
optical input.

devices 7. Clean any male fi ber end-face input fi ber or device that
you attach to the UCI input.
Use a similar cleaning method to clean the fi ber
end-face input fi ber or device.
