6 Keypad Main Features and Functions
6.1
The keypad represents a portal to access the system, and provides for functions
according to the user rights accessible for the PIN code entered for authorizing or direct
control.
Authorization
means login
to the menu corresponding to the PIN code’s designated
access level.
Direct control
means unconditional PIN code input for immediate system control.
Authorization and direct control occur under the rules shown in the table of Section
5.1
.
6.2
The keypad within a wireless network represents a device which is staying mostly
in
«sleep»
mode in order to save battery energy. At absence of any user actions or
urgent information in the system, the keypad switches to
«sleep» mode on expiry of the
active
mode time, set in the
Engineer
or
Technician
menu. The time may be set from
15 to 60 seconds at increments of 5 seconds (the default setting is 30 seconds).
6.3
During
«sleep» mode, the keypad provides for periodic communication with the
control panel in order to supervise communication channel. This communication has no
external manifestations.
6.4
When using system computer monitoring via MSS
Monitors

When entering the system from the keypad using an
Engineer
PIN code, a
message appears on the
Operator
or
Technician
Monitors
indicating that a top-
access session has opened in the
Core
, and the activity of these
Monitors
is
suspended. On expiry of the
Engineer
active
mode time, the keypad switches to
«sleep»
mode and issues a command to automatically terminate the
Engineer
session
in the
Core,
and the corresponding messages appear on the
Monitors
.
When entering the system from the keypad using
Operator
,
Technician
or
User
PIN codes, the operability of
Technician
or
Operator
Monitors
is not suspended.
6.5
Direct control
of arming/disarming partitions, based on the rights of the PIN code
entered, is accessible with
User
rights only.
The control is performed with indication of partition statuses accessible for the PIN code
entered, immediately after receipt of a report of command execution and the

button is
pressed.
6.6
In
standby
mode, at absence of any event or failure, after pressing any button
(except numerical and the
button), the keypad displays:
