DEFROSTING.
As time goes on frost will be build up on the freezing shelves in certain areas. The
amount of frost build up on the freezing shelves will reduce the capacity of the freezer
and increase the temperature in the freezer.
This frost should be scraped away periodically using a wooden or plastic scraper or a
stiff bristle brush. The frost will mainly be built up at the upper freezing shelf.
We recommend to make a defrost when the thickness of ice on the freezing shelves
is about 5 to 10mm or minimum 4 times per year so the freezer inner body can be
cleaned.
Choose a time when stock of frozen food is low, and proceed as follows:
A1.
Place the frozen goods at a cold place (in an other freezer) or wrap them in
insulating material like blankets or newspapers.
A2.
Take away the small white drain knob at the bottom of the freezer.
A3.
Turn the black knob at the centre at the louvered bottom plate outwards and
place a flat bowl under the drain tube for collection the defrost water.
A4.
Turn the thermostat knob anticlockwise to position stop, open the door, and
wait for the temperature to rise so that the ice on the freezing shelves will
come loose. This process may be fastened by careful use of a hair dryer or
by means of a bowl of hot water.
NEVER USE METAL OR SHARP TOOLS AS A SCRAPER.
7.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
In the case of operation disturbances, please check the following:
A1.
Is the freezer connected to the mains supply?
A2.
Is the mains supply intact? (No blown fuses?)
A3.
Has the freezer recently been filled with fresh food?
Or has the door being opened?
A4.
Is the thermostat set correctly?
A5.
Is the door properly closed?
A6.
Is the frost layer on the freezing shelves too thick? If yes unplug the
Freezer and start a manual defrost.
A7.
Is the circulation of air unimpeded? For model with glass door
– is the internal
fan motor running?
A8.
No light in UFR370GD. Is the light switch cut-in? Is the fluorescent tube
flashing without constant light? Change the starter. Always use the same size
as the original one. The starter is located at the top of the rear side behind
the steel cover. Unplug the cabinet before taking away the cover.
No light but the switch is cut-in and the starter ok. Unplug the cabinet take
away the cover for the tube and replace it with the same size as the original
one. If you still have no light call a skilled electrician.
A9.
Too much condensation on the glass door or door frame? Has the door just
being opened? It will take some few minutes before the condensation on the
inner glass disappear. If not fill with your hand if the glass or frame is a little
warm. If not call a skilled electrician
If disturbances of operating continue to occur, call authorized refrigerating service.
