1.2. Overview the SW-221Subwoofer
The Tecnare®
SW-221
is a high power, high output
low frequency system that sets a new standard in the sound
reinforcement. It can be used to supplement any Tecnare
subwoofer system and extend the low frequency response
down to 27 Hz.
The SW-221 cabinets are a 1-way bass-reflex
design to extend the frequency response down to 27 Hz. It
has two bass-reflex chambers housing two long excursion
neodymium 21-inch drivers and ultra-wide ports that drasti-
cally reduce low-frequency turbulence with low distortion.
The SW-221 is designed to streamline setup a
deliver maximum result in minimum time uniting features
unique to deliver solutions for rental and installations sys-
tems.
The SW-221 can only be used in ground stacked
configurations as conventional left/right setup as well as ar
-
ranged in a cardioid subwoofer configuration by combining physical deployment and the suitable preset.
The Tecnare® SW-221 utilizes the all Tecnare T20-44 amplifier power. The Tecnare T20-44 ensures ad
-
vanced crossover functions, linearisation and protection of the transducers. Its on-board library offers standard and
cardioid presets, each available with two low-pass filters to accommodate various coupling conditions and low fre
-
quency requirements. Do not used this options is a risk of damaging the loudspeaker components.
The cabinet is assembled from 18mm ply Baltic birch and has an impact and weather resistant paint finishes
(Polyurea Protection), properly braced for the intended use. The front of the cabinet is protected by a hex-stamped
steel grille with acoustical black mesh protective and each side panel incorporate four recessed handlers. Bottom
runners ensure safe stacking and protecting the bottom panel against scratching.
The connectors are Neutrik NL4. Four 100mm blue rubber wheels are available to mount at the rear panel of
the cabinet for transportation.
1.3. Connections
SW-221
loudspeaker utilizes Neutrik® SpeakON® connectors. There are two
NLT4 connectors on the rear of each SW-221 and one NLT4 connector on the front.
These connectors mate with Neutrik NL-4 or NL-4 compatible in-line cable connectors.
Only two pins of both connectors are wired in parallel. The following subsections de-
scribe the electrical connections.
The SW-221 uses the pin assignment 1+/1+. Under special order, the customer
can required the assignments 2+/2- and appoint the pin 1+/1- to TOP cabinets.
CAUTION:
Only should use the second connector (link) to connect to a second cabinet when the power con-
