Engine Failure Secure 

 
After the failed engine has been identified, feathered, and coordinated level flight has been established, 
the inoperative engine can be secured according to the procedure below. For training purposes, except 
for the cowl flaps and fuel pumps, all of these items will be simulated so as not to increase any possible 
risk. 
 

Procedures:

Airstart of a Failed Engine 
 

Once an engine has been secured and any desired maneuvering is completed, the engine may be 
restarted. Please refer to the POH to see if your aircraft uses this procedure or not.
