HOW TO OPERATE
1.
First, find a stable surface near an electrical outlet before starting. Make sure the cord is
away from any water source. It is acceptable to use an extension cord if needed.
2.
Plug in unit at the OFF position.
3.
Turn unit to ON position and allow it to run for at least 5 minutes before adding hard
candy. If using sugar, allow appliance to run for at least 10 minutes before adding
sugar. This will allow the Turnplate to heat.
4.
Turn unit OFF and place no more than two pieces of hard candy or one scoop of
flavored sugar (1 tbsp.) into the Turnplate. If using candies, make sure they are evenly
placed on either side of the Turnplate (see image below).
5. Switch to ON position.
6. When you see the cotton candy web begin, collect the cotton candy on the cone by
holding the cone vertically. Rotate the cone with your fingers while you circle the bowl.
7. Once cotton candy has collected on the cone, hold the cone in a horizontal position over
the Turn plate while still rotating the cone with your fingers. Continue turning the cone with
your fingers while the cone is in the horizontal position and move from side to side making
sure to collect all the cotton candy.
8. Repeat above steps by adding another measure of candy or sugar into the Turn plate and
starting again. The cotton candy should flow more quickly as the unit is sufficiently warm.
9. DO NOT overfill the Turn plate by adding more than two candies or 1 tbsp. of sugar at a
time. This will cause clogging and unit will not work properly.
10. By following these simple instructions, using your COTTON CANDY MAKER will be a fun
experience for kids of all ages and will bring the excitement of a carnival to any occasion.
HELPFUL TIPS
If your cotton candy is not flossing properly or is coming out with a brittle,
“
Easter grass
”
texture, follow these instructions:
•
Only put in 1-2 hard candies at a time
•
Make sure the candies are evenly placed on either side of the Turn plate.
•
For best results, break candies up before use.
•
The faster the Turn plate spins, the better the result.
