8. ADJUSTMENTS

8.1. ALIGNING THE BELT

Figure 8.1-1

Carry out the procedures described in paragraphs
7.6. “Disassembling the right and left side
guards”.

1. Back off the lock nut

on alternator pivot

using a 19-mm wrench.

2. Back off the locking dowel

of alternator

pivot

using a 4-mm hex T wrench.

3. Placing a straight reference rod

against

pulley

, verify the alignment of belt

checking that the reference rod

is parallel

with belt

4. Adjust alternator pivot

turn clockwise or

anticlockwise to move the alternator forward
or backward along the pivot axis.

5. After completing the adjustment, lock down

dowel

on alternator pivot

and tighten lock

nut

After completing this procedure, check

the belt tension as described in
paragraph 8.2. .
