Switch Settings

Switch settings for the baud rate and the acceleration rate may be changed, if necessary.
There are two switches for the baud rate, and two for the acceleration rate. All four
switches are found on the same DIP switch, which is located on the left leg of the DaVinci,
behind the panel. 

(See diagram 6 below.)

The DIP switch contains eight switches: 1 and 2 set the baud rate, 3 and 4 set
acceleration, and switches 5 through 8 are non-functional.

Adjusting The Baud Rate

The position of switches 1 and 2 determine the communication speed, or 

baud rate

. For the

default setting of 9600 baud, switch 1 is OFF, and switch 2 is ON. A setting of 4800 baud
requires switch 1 to be ON, and switch 2 to be OFF.
