1 Product description
The
TECHNISYSTEM 5/16 NT
multi-switch is designed for use in small and medium-sized SAT and terrestrial TV distribu-
tion systems. It ensures independent access of each subscriber to each SAT IF or terrestrial signal. It is intended for indoor
use only.
The housing of the
TECHNISYSTEM 5/16 NT
multi-switch meets the shielding requirements according to EN50083-2, class A.
According to the standard ETSI EN 303 354 V.1.1.1, TERR TV band amplifier type is Launch, selectivity classification 0.
2 Safety instructions
• Installation of the multi-switch must be done according IEC60728-11 and national safety standards.
• The multi-switch is powered from mains 230 V~. This voltage is dangerous to life.
• Any repairs must be done by a skilled personnel.
• The multi-switch is double isolated from the mains 230 V~.
• Do not remove the cover of the power supply section, without disconnecting the unit from the mains supply.
• Do not plug the multi-switch into the mains supply if the power cord or plug is damaged.
• Do not plug the multi-switch into the mains supply until all cables have been connected correctly.
• The mains socket must be easily accessible.
• The multi-switch shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing water.
• Avoid placing multi-switch next to central heating components, near highly combustible materials and in areas of high
humidity.
• If the multi-switch has been kept in cold conditions for a long time, keep it in a warm room no less than 2 hours
before plugging into the mains.
• Do not insert any objects into ventilation openings.
• The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the multi-switch with items, such as newspapers, table-cloths,
curtains.
• Mount the multi-switch on not flammable wall or in not flammable installation box in vertical position with power
supply unit on the right side. Mount in locations where children not likely to be present.
• From top, front and bottom of installed multi-switch must be at least 10 cm free space.

4 Installation
Mount the multi-switch in a vertical position with the power supply unit on the right-hand side. The multi-switch must be
fixed with 4 flat-head screws with a diameter of 4 to 5 mm - use suitable dowels if necessary. The screws are not included
in the scope of delivery.
Establish equipotential bonding (Cu ≥ 4 mm²) at the earthing screw
❽.
Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds to the specification on the unit and connect the mains cable of the mul-
ti-switch
❶
to the power supply.
5 Operation
The power supply unit of the multi-switch supplies the LNB and the terrestrial amplifier. The LED
❼
signals the operation of
the power supply unit. The LNB is connected to the SAT IF inputs
❷
. Use a quad LNB - quad-switch LNBs are not suitable.
The terrestrial input
❸
has two 4-stage attenuators
❺ + ❻
with the values 0/4/8/12 dB and 0/1/2/3 dB, whose total
attenuation is obtained by adding the two values. An additional remote feed at the terrestrial input can be switched off
with switch
❹
.
The receivers connected to the outputs
❾
receive the satellite IF levels through their control voltage (14/18V, 0/22kHz).
The terrestrial signals are connected in parallel when fed in.
