Getting your SSD ready for use
The storage tray ( > 14 , 15) on the back of this unit is removable. Before using this unit, open the storage tray
and install an SSD.
≥ An SSD is not supplied in the package you have purchased. Purchase an SSD that are commercially available.
≥ For information on the handling of the SSD, refer to “SSD” (

29 ).
∫ Supported SSDs
This unit supports 2.5-inch SATA SSDs with a thickness of up to 9.5 mm. (Limited to those with a driving
voltage of 5 V.) It is not possible to connect PATA SSDs, 1.8-inch SSDs, SSDs with ZIF connectors, SSDs with a
driving voltage of 3.3 V, or specially-shaped SSDs (built-in SSD of an ASUS Eee PC, etc.).

Follow the steps below to install the SSD.

Rotate the fixing screw on the back of this unit to loosen it.

Hold both ends of the storage tray to pull it out straight.
3
Turn the storage tray over with the bottom side facing up, and attach the new SSD.
≥ Be careful about the orientation of the SSD and storage tray.
