CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
Basic Cleaning
Before cleaning, remove plug from the socket!
• Clean the brewer regularly on the outside with a moist cloth and wipe
dry. After each use, hand wash the jug, thermos and filter holder with
mild detergent. Glass jug or thermos are not dishwasher safe. Coffee
oil stains in thermos may be removed using the special “Coffee server
cleaning tablet”, available at Moccamaster dealers and in our web
shop at www.moccamaster.eu.
• Do not submerge brewer in any liquid
Cleaning the brewer (inside).
• The brewer needs to be cleaned regularly.
• If used daily it needs to be cleaned every two weeks.
Descaling Your Brewer
• Regular descaling is necessary. We recommend descaling after 100x
coffee making, or after a packet of filter paper. For descaling we
recommend Durgol.
• Do not use (organic) descaling agents based on citric acid, which
results in a permanently unpleasant coffee taste because the citric
acid reacts chemically with the copper heating element.
Anti-Frost Protection and Extended Storage Guidelines.
• Turn the brewer off and remove the electrical plug from outlet.
• Remove multi-hole outlet pipe.
• Empty any remaining water within brewer by holding it upside down
over the sink.
• Replace the multi-hole outlet pipe before using the brewer again.
