5.0 Closure Door

WARNING
WARNING:
Never apply pressure to any TDW
closure when clamp rings are not securely closed or
aligned so that the pressure warning lock can be
installed. Never apply pressure to any closure that
may be inoperative.
The closure door face must always be parallel to and
concentric with the face of the barrel collar. If a TDW
closure does not operate freely and easily following
routine maintenance and adjustment, contact the TDW
factory for assistance and repair, as necessary.
6.0 Door Hinge Maintenance –
Sizes 16-in. and Larger
The closure door face should be parallel with and
concentric to the face of the barrel collar. Misalignment
in these two faces may be adjusted by the eight (8)
setscrews located in the hinge’s mounting bracket
hubs. Each hub has four setscrews. Raising or
lowering the door may correct vertical misalignment.
Refer to Figures 10 and 11 (images represent a 32-
inch door hinge bracket).

The door hinge bearings are oil impregnated, sintered
bronze and do not require lubrication but should be
checked at regular intervals for excessive wear. Refer
to Figures 12, 13, and 14 for lubrication points and
adjustment instructions.
