What problems can I easily resolve?
Problem Action Required
Chip cards cannot be
processed
1. Follow the instructions on screen.
2. Try inserting a different card. If this card can be read, the problem is with the
first card.
3. Use a cleaning card to clean the card reader.
Display is too bright or
too dark
1. Call the TD Merchant Solutions Contact Centre at 1-800-363-1163 .
Magnetic stripe card
reader won’t read cards
1. Try swiping the card more quickly or more slowly.
2. Request another form of payment. If this card can be read, the problem is
with the first card.
3. Use a cleaning card to clean the problem card reader.
Why isn’t my card reader connecting to the application?
1. Confirm Bluetooth is enabled and permissions are granted for the TD Mobile Pay app.
2. Confirm Location Services are enabled and permissions are granted for the TD Mobile Pay app.
3. Close and relaunch the TD Mobile Pay app.
4. Restart your mobile device and card reader before attempting to connect again.
If you are having issues with connecting your card reader, you can remove the pairing from your
mobile phone and card reader before attempting to setup the connection again. Perform both of the
following to completely remove the connection between your card reader and your mobile phone.
Remove the card reader from your mobile phone (Android)
1. Press Settings on your mobile phone.
2. Press Bluetooth and tap the cog wheel icon on the right of the card reader you would like to forget.
3. Press Unpair and confirm that you would like to forget this card reader.
Remove the card reader from your mobile phone (iOS)
1. Press Settings on your mobile phone.
2. Press Bluetooth and tap the cog wheel icon on the right of the card reader you would like to forget.
3. Press Unpair and confirm that you would like to forget this card reader.
Remove the mobile phone app from the card reader
1. Press Menu on the card reader.
2. Press BLE Configuration .
3. Press Remove Bonding .
