If the computer is using antivirus or security software,
the unit might not be able to connect to it.
This unit uses a microprocessor, so noise and other
external interference could cause it to stop function-
ing properly. If this should occur, unplug the unit’s
power from the outlet and wait a little while before
plugging the power in again and retrying the
operation.
If the unit still does not function properly after doing the
above, follow the procedures in “Restoring factory default
settings” on page 47 to restore the unit to its factory
default settings and try the operation again.
Restoring factory default settings
If this unit does not operate properly, follow the proce-
dures below to restore it to the default settings that it had
when shipped new from the factory. Doing this might cor-
rect the problem.
While the unit is on, press and hold the stop (

) but-
ton and press the STANDBY/ON button.
Note about condensation
If this unit is brought from a cold outdoor environment
into a warm room, or the heater has just been turned
on in the room where it is located, for example, con-
densation might occur on operating parts or lenses,
resulting in improper operation. If this occurs, leave the
unit on and wait 1-2 hours. This should enable normal
playback.
