SPECIAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Transport machinery safely
-
Comply with applicable traffic laws.
-
Adjust the speed to match the prevailing conditions. Maximum transport speed for
mower is 30 km/h. Do not exceed the recommended speed. Never travel at a
speed which does not allow adequate control of steering and stopping. Note also
that some rough terrain require a slower speed.
-
Sudden braking can cause a towed load to swerve and upset.
Transporting people
-
Do not allow passengers in the ATV when operating the mower.
Engine
-
Follow the engine manufacturer’s instructions (see Engine Manual). Do not alter
engine settings without the engine manufacturer’s permission.
-
Before operating the mower, check that there is oil in the engine and fuel in the fuel
tank.
-
Do not stop the engine immediately after heavy use but let it run at half working
speed to cool down to avoid engine overload.
Fuel safety
-
Fuel is highly flammable, and its vapors can explode if ignited. Take precautions
when using to reduce the risk of serious personal injury. Do not smoke, or allow
sparks, open flames or other sources of ignition near the area while adding fuel or
operating the unit. Never fill fuel tank indoors. Always stop the engine and allow it
to cool before filling the fuel tank. Never remove the cap of the fuel tank or add fuel
while the engine is running or when the engine is hot.
-
Keep grounded conductive objects, such as tools, away from exposed, live electrical
parts and connections to avoid sparking or arcing. These events could ignite fumes
or vapors.
-
Do not operate the machine with known leaks in the fuel system. Avoid creating a
source of ignition for spilled fuel. If fuel is spilled, do not attempt to start the engine
but move the machine away from the area of spillage and avoid creating any
source of ignition until fuel vapors have dissipated.
-
Store fuel in a cool, well-ventilated area, safely away from sparks, open flames or
other sources of ignition. Never store fuel or machine with fuel in the tank inside a
building where fumes may reach a spark, open flame, or other sources of ignition,
such as a water heater, furnace, clothes dryer and the like. Allow the engine to cool
before storing in any enclosure.
Maintenance
-
Understand maintenance procedure before doing any maintenance work. Use
proper tools and equipment.
-
Work in a clean and dry area.
-
Before starting the maintenance lower the mower to the ground, put ATV in park,
turn off engine, and remove key before performing maintenance.
-
Allow mower to cool completely.
-
Do not grease or oil mower while it is in operation.
-
Inspect all parts. Make sure parts are in good condition and installed properly.
-
Remove all tools, machines and parts from mower before operation.
-
Remove build-up of grease, oil or debris.
