PRIOR TO USE
-
Before installation, read this operator’s manual, the tractor’s installation instructions and
the instructions of any tools used carefully.
-
The machine is heavy. Use a suitable lifting accessory when lifting it.
-
Use the appropriate personal protective equipment during installation.
-
Prior to use, check the bale spears for damaged, missing or malfunctioning parts. If you
find any, repair the faults before use.
-
Before using the bale spears, ensure that all the necessary repairs have been completed.
-
Before use, ensure that all the attachment points have been tightened as appropriate.
OPERATION
WARNING! Always insert the spear properly inside the bale and secure the load.
Otherwise the bale may roll down when lifted causing injury or death. Use the
spear only for transporting hay bales. Keep at least 5 m distance to other people.
Do not tilt the bale when it is raised.
-
Before use, ensure that there are no third parties around the bale spears and in the
operation zone.
-
Never lift or carry people on the bale spears. This may result in serious damage or death.
-
Do not let third parties enter the tractor cab during the operation of the machine.
-
Do not handle bales that exceed the capacity of the bale spear.
-
A heavy load can cause instability during driving. If necessary, use counterbalance weights
and drive slowly, especially when turning. An unstable tractor may be difficult to steer, and
it may tip over and cause injuries or death.
-
Falling bales may roll or bounce.
-
Never use the tractor or the machine to stop a rolling bale.
-
Stack the bales into a stable stack.
-
Always lower the spears to the ground when parking the tractor. Raised spears may hurt
people or cattle.
-
Place the load at the back of the spears close to the user to avoid it from tipping over or
causing other damage.
-
Never exceed the maximum speed limit.
-
Only operate the spears from the tractor operator’s seat.
-
Push the spear properly through the hay bale to keep the load in place during driving and
to ensure the balance of the machine. Otherwise, it may cause damage to the machine or
its operator.
-
Always wear the seat belt during use.
-
Pay special attention when working on sloping terrain or near loose soil, stones or potholes
since these may cause the tractor to tip over, resulting in serious injury or death.
-
When lowering or raising the bale spears, avoid sudden stops that might cause you to lose
control of the spears or the load. This may result in serious damage or death.
-
Use the biggest counterbalance weight or the widest recommended wheel setting when
handling large loads for transport.
-
Check and adjust the tyre pressures. If the pressure is not adequate, the tyres may
puncture easily or even cause an injury or a death.
-
Do not adjust or repair the bale spears or the tractor when the machine is moving or
without switching off the power source.
