DEBRIS SHIELD

Shield fits snug on shaft. Some force may be required.
1. Seat shield (B) onto shaft bracket (C).
2. Insert washers (D) onto bolt.
3. Insert bolt (E) and nut (F), tighten securely.

HANDLE ASSEMBLY

NOTE: The handle is attached to
the shaft but has been turned
under for ease of packing.
1. Loosen adjustment knob and

rotate handle to top of shaft.
Position handle 160mm -
220mm from the rear handle
(Fig. 2).

2. Tighten adjustment knob (A)

securely.

INSTALLING ATTACHMENTS 

NOTE: To make installing or removing attachments easi-
er, place the unit on the ground or on a work bench.
1.

Turn the knob (A) counterclockwise to loosen (Fig.
3A).

2.

While firmly holding the attachment (B), push it
straight into the Quick-Change coupling (C) until the
release button (D) appears in the primary hole (E)
(Fig. 3B)

3.

Turn the knob (A) clockwise to tighten. (Fig. 3C)

All attachments are designed to be used in the primary
hole unless otherwise indicated in the specific attach-
ments operators manual. If the incorrect hole is used, it
could result in injury, or damage to the unit.

CONNECT THE  CORD

1.

Ensure the cord is NOT plugged into a receptacle
before this procedure.

2.

Make a loop with 8” - 10” (20 - 25cm) of the end of
the extension cord.

3.

Place the loop into the slots (A) under the motor
housing and lock into place.

4.

Connect the extension cord to the trimmer.

5.

Plug the extension cord into a receptacle ONLY when
you are ready to operate the trimmer.

TRIMMER OPERATION

1.

TRIMMING / MOWING (Fig. 4A). Swing trimmer with
a sickle-like motion from side to side. Do not tilt the
linehead during the procedure. Test area to be
trimmed for proper cutting height. Keep linehead at
same level for even depth of cut.

2.

CLOSER TRIMMING (Fig. 4B). Position trimmer
straight ahead with a slight tilt so bottom of linehead is
above ground level and string contact occurs at proper
cutting point. Always cut away from operator. Do not
pull trimmer in toward operator.

installed (Fig. 1) to properly dispense trim-
ming line and protect operator.
