9. Turn the lift crank to raise the column to its highest possible elevation. This will raise the patient to a seated
position approximately 18 inches from the floor (Fig. 12).
WARNING: It is strongly recommended that you place some kind of padding, such as a blanket, between
the patients knees and the lift column prior to lifting to minimize any discomfort and avoid pinching the
patient’s skin against the lift column.
WARNING: Be sure that the spreader bar is pointing vertically upwards behind the column, so as not to
interfere with the patient’s leg as they are raised. (Fig 11)
