CODEC and Audio Fault Finding

Task 7 —

Check Signal

from CODEC

First generate an appropriate audio test signal and check whether the signal
is present at the output of the CODEC circuitry.

Enter the CCTM command

is a valid channel number.

(A suitable channel will depend on the programming of the radio.)

Enter the CCTM command

to force unmuting of the received

audio signal.

Enter the CCTM command

to set the audio level at its

midpoint.

At the test set apply 60%, 1 kHz modulation to the RF signal.
Reduce the volume to a minimum.

Enter the CCTM command

Check the received signal is present at pin 4 of connector

If the signal is correct, the fault is with PL1 or the accessory flex
connector. Refer to

“Accessories Interface Faulty” on page 147

accessory connector service instructions. If the signal is not correct go

Check the received signal is present at the junction of

Figure 12.1

). The signal should be:

If the signal is correct go to
