Radio display symbols
These are some of the symbols you may see on you
radio display:
Symbol Meaning
Received signal strength indicator (RSSI) (green LED
glowing): the more bars, the stronger the signal
being received by your radio
Transmit power level (red LED glowing): the more
bars, the higher the power level of your transmission
Transmit: your radio is transmitting
Low-power transmit: your radio is transmitting on
low power
Silent operation: your radio’s audible tones have been
turned off
External alert: external alert is active
Conventional mode symbols:
Scanning: your radio is monitoring a group of chan-
nels for activity
Monitor or squelch override: monitor or squelch over-
ride is active
MPT trunked mode symbols:
MPT network: your radio has access to an
MPT network
Flashing: your radio is attempting to access an MPT
network
Go: your radio has established a call and you are now
able to speak to the other party
Call queuing: call queuing is active
Queued call: there are calls in the call queue
