FlexSet PEX-F, PEX-FS

Installation

The PEX-FS replaces the PEX-F unit which has been discontinued.
The PEX-F (discontinued) and PEX-FS units are functionally identical, the
only difference between the units is the electrical circuitry.
In this document both units are referred to as the PEX.

The PEX (Peripheral EXpansion) is an optional module connected to the base of a
FlexSet 280/281 (280, 280D, 280D-Z, 281S and 280S). It is used to supply external
power to the FlexSet 280/281 and all other expansion modules (FlexSet 40B, etc.). It
also supplies the power necessary for extended Coral FlexSet line lengths. The PEX
unit contains a control bus connection for the expansion modules and an audio jack for
an additional handset or tape recorder (listen-in ability only). In addition, the PEX unit
provides additional electrical protection against noise and lightning.
