Child security

To prevent certain DVDs and VCDs being played without
approval, the DVD player features a child-lock. If you
switch on the child-lock as described below, the machine
will only play the DVDs and VCDs you authorise
(approve) without restriction.

To play another DVD / VCD the user is required to enter
the code number (PIN code) to unlock the child-lock.
This is done using the

OSD

access control menu.

When the code has been entered correctly, playback
starts automatically.

activating the child-lock and marking authorised DVDs /
VCDs.

Note:

If you forget your code number, you can erase it using
the following procedure: place the non-authorised disc in
the machine. Interrupt the

OSD

access control menu by

pressing the



button. As described in

Switching

on child-lock

, switch to Code Input and press the



button four times. The child-lock is now switched

off.

This is only possible when playback is stopped. If a
disc is playing, you must first stop it.

Hold the



button pressed in to call up the

control bar

Select the menu point

'OSD'

using the





buttons.

Select the 'Features Menu' function (

symbol)

using the





buttons.

Select the „Access control“ function by pressing the



button.

You are requested to enter a four-digit code number,
or PIN number, using the numeric buttons
(



. . . .



), which you can choose yourself.

You must then confirm it by entering the code num-
ber again. This code number must be entered every
time you wish to play a DVD video disc or video CD.

Select the 'Lock / Unlock' function using the



button.

Activate the child-lock by pressing the



button, or

press the



button to disable the child-lock.

button to leave

the access control menu.

From  now  on  this  PIN  code  must  be  entered  every
time  you  wish  to  see  a  DVD  video  or  video  CD,
unless  you  have  authorised  (approved)  the  DVD  or
VCD for viewing by all age groups.

To switch off the child-lock, repeat the procedure
described above, and disable the child-lock under
Point 9 by pressing the



button.

Authorising

(approving

DVDs / VCDs)

Place the DVD or VCD which you wish to authorise in
the machine, and close the disc drawer.

The

OSD

access control menu appears on your TV

screen.

Use the





buttons to select whether the DVD

is to be played always or only once. If you select
„Play always“, the DVD in the machine will be
playable in future without any access control.

Enter your four-digit code number.

Note:

You can authorise a total of 120 DVDs or VCDs.

VCDs with several titles, and multi-page DVDs, may
have different IDs, in which case each title has to be
authorised separately.

In  the  case  of  DVDs  containing  scenes  which  are  rated
higher  than  the  set  rating,  this  level  of  security  makes  it
possible  for  such  scenes  either  not  to  be  shown  or  for
alternatives  scenes  to  be  shown.  This  feature  must  be
supported  by  the  DVD;  the  ratings  vary  from  country  to
country.
