This button can be used to dim the VU meter display from “maximum bright-
ness” to “off” in seven steps. It is possible to cycle through the settings. The
brightness is adjusted by briefly and repeatedly pressing the button until your
preferred level is reached.
If a
PS 3000 HV
mains power supply is connected, a long press on the button
switches the display mode: repeat the long presses until your preferred display
mode is set.
Status display
All the machine’s status information is displayed in the form of status symbols.
The meaning of the individual symbols is as follows:
Indicates that the power amplifier is working in
'Stereo'
mode. The
symbol goes out if the operating mode is changed to
'High
Current Mono'
. The mode is selected by operating the switch
marked 'AMP MODE' on the back panel (see chapter
'Back panel
controls'
).
This symbol lights up if the temperature of the output stages is too
high. If this should happen, reduce the volume or switch the
machine off to allow it to cool down.
This symbol lights up as soon as the output stages have warmed
up to their ideal operating temperature.
This symbol indicates that the output stages have not yet reached
their optimum operating temperature.
This symbol indicates that the asymmetrical (Cinch) input is
selected. The symbol goes out if the symmetrical (XLR) input is
selected. The input is selected using the switch marked 'INPUT
SELECT' on the machine’s back panel (see chapter
'Back panel
controls'
).
This symbol lights up if the optional
PS 3000 HV
supplementary
mains power supply is connected.
This symbol indicates that the protective circuit has been triggered
(see chapter
'Protection circuit'
).
Level display

(VU meter)
The purpose of the VU meters is to display and monitor the modulation of the
A 3000 HV
.
These displays show an averaged output level.
The LED at top right in the display lights up if the output stage is overloaded
(clipping).
In
High Current Mono
mode both VU meters show the same reading.
