QUICK START GUIDE

Turning the unit ON/OFF 

Make sure the unit is connected to the mains power supply using the supplied power 

adapter and ensure that the wall power switch is on so the 

On/Off

 button is illuminated.

Note: The first time the unit is powered up, it will start a DAB Scan. Please wait until this is 

completed before further operation of the unit.

Touching the 

On/Off

 or Source buttons will turn the unit on.

Touching Source or any of the Presets buttons (labelled 1–4) will also turn the unit on.

When the unit is turned-on, touch the 

On/Off

 button to turn the unit off.

Note: When the unit is in standby, If the backlight is off pressing         ,         ,              ,           or

will display the clock for a short period. Please refer to section “

BACKLIGHT IN STANDBY

” 

for more details.

Volume

Touching the      button will increase the volume and touching the      button will reduce 

the volume.

The display will show the current volume level whilst it is being adjusted and for a short 

time afterwards.

Enter

Use the 

Enter

 to confirm DAB station and menu selections.

Note (iPod Only):  When the source is iPod Enter also acts as a Play/Pause toggle. Please refer 

to the “

USING THE IPOD DOCK

” section below.

Choosing a Source

Touching the Source button cycles through the available sources. 

Note (iPod Only): iPod is only available as a source if an iPod is detected in the iPod Dock (if 

Dock fitted). Please refer to the “

USING THE IPOD DOCK

” section below.

Tuning

Use the Previous (      ) and Next (      ) buttons to tune to new stations.

Note (DAB Only): To tune to the displayed DAB Station it is necessary to touch the Enter 

button.

Presets 1-4

Touch to select, touch and hold to store station or other source.

Display

Touch the 

Display

 button to see other information being broadcast by the current radio 

station. This can include the name of the song being broadcast and other useful items. 

Touching the 

Display

 button cycles through the different kinds of information 

available. 

Note: Only DAB and FM radio stations with RDS provide this information.

Menu

Touch the 

Menu

 button to enter the setup options menu.

Alarm

Touch the 

Alarm

 button to turn the alarm on and off. If the alarm is on you can press 

Enter to adjust the alarm setting.

TUNING THE RADIO 

First select DAB or FM using the Source key. 

DAB Scans

It is necessary for unit to perform a scan to detect all 

available DAB radio stations that can be received.  When 

the unit is switched on for the first time, it will perform an 

automatic DAB scan.

A DAB scan may take a few minutes to complete. Once complete the unit will return to 

normal operation. 

Note: If the power to the unit is interrupted during the DAB scan the scan will need to be 

repeated when the power is restored.

Note: The number of DAB radio stations may vary from area to area.

Should the radio be moved to a different location, or if you wish to check for new 

stations in the future, it will be necessary to perform a manual DAB Scan.  Please refer to 

the “

DAB SCANS

” section below for details.

DAB Tuning

Touching the Previous (      ) and Next (      ) buttons cycles 

alphabetically through the names of stations. Touching the 

Enter

 button tunes to the station displayed. 

Note: It is possible for the name of a DAB station to be displayed but for there to be no 

station audible. This may be due to the fact that the station is not being broadcast at that 

time - some stations may only broadcast for a few hours a day.

FM Tuning

Touching the Previous (      ) and Next (      ) buttons tunes 

up or down the frequencies. The unit will automatically 

tune to the chosen frequency.

Touching 

Enter

 when you see the left pointing chevrons will scan down the frequency 

range to the next available station. Touching 

Enter

 when you see the right pointing 

chevrons will scan up the frequency range to the next available station. Touching 

Enter

 

again will carry on scanning in the same direction. 

Poor Reception

If you experience poor reception it may be that you are in a weak signal area and 

require a better antenna. Please contact your installer for information.

Storing a Preset

The numbered 

Preset

 buttons 1-4 can be used to preset to a mix of DAB or FM stations 

and other source.  With a source selected (e.g. Line In) or a radio station tuned (e.g. DAB) 

touching and holding one of the numbered 

Presets

 buttons until you hear a beep will 

program that button to automatically switch to that source or tune to the current radio 

station when pressed again. 

Note: Preset 1 is the default alarm source.

Note (DAB Only): The DAB station must be fully tuned in for the preset to be stored correctly.

SETTING THE ALARM

Turning the Alarm On and Off

Touching the 

Alarm

 button will toggle the alarm on and off. 

Changing the Alarm Time

When the alarm is on and whilst the alarm time is being 

displayed touch 

Enter

 to change it. 

The Hour setting will flash. Use the Previous (      ) and Next 

(      ) buttons to adjust it and touch 

Enter 

to save the 

setting.

The Minute setting will flash. Use the Previous (      ) and 

Next (      ) buttons to adjust it and touch 

Enter

 to save the 

setting.

The am/pm setting will flash. Use the Previous (      ) and 

Next (      ) buttons to adjust it and touch 

Enter

 to save the 

setting.

The alarm is now set and will display the selected alarm 

time and other alarm settings. 

The alarm icon will be displayed in the top right-hand 

corner of display to indicate that the alarm is set.

Alarm Skips

Alarm Skips allow the alarm to be skipped for one or two days without actually turning 

the alarm off altogether. After the days skipped the alarm will function normally.

A long touch of the 

Alarm

 button, when the alarm is set to on, will display the current 

alarm skips setting.

Note: The alarm skips setting can only be viewed when the alarm is set to on.

When the alarm skips setting is displayed touching the 

Alarm

 button again cycles 

through the three settings: No skips, next alarm skipped, next 2 alarms skipped.

Note: When the alarm skips function is active, the ‘bell’ alarm symbol will indicate this by 

missing its ‘clapper’. 

What Happens when the Alarm Activates

Depending upon the further settings below the unit may 

turn-on to a preset source or beep at the chosen alarm 

time.

Touching the Alarm button will silence the beep and reset 

the alarm for the following day.

Note: Regardless of the chosen alarm option, if the unit is already on at the alarm time then 

a beep will be overlaid on whatever source is already selected.

Snooze

When the alarm beeps, touch Enter to put alarm into 

Snooze mode. The alarm will repeat after the preset 

interval. Pressing any other button exits Snooze mode and 

resets the alarm for the following day. 

Note: Snooze is not available when the alarm type is set to 

preset only.

BACKLIGHT IN STANDBY

When the unit is in standby a long touch of the 

Display

 button toggles the backlight on 

or off, which determines whether the clock is visible or not.

Note: Even if the backlight setting is off pressing         ,         ,              ,           or          will display the 

clock for a short period.

” below for details of how to change the brightness 

of the backlight.
