6.1 General Pre-Installation
A location should be selected that will give the best circula-
tion of the conditioned room air. Do not locate the unit behind
a door, or at a point where a door, if left open, would obstruct
the flow of supply/return air.
When choosing a location for the unit, keep in mind the mini-
mum clearances listed in the tables below. These clearances
assure accessibility for service and proper, safe operation of
the unit.
After selecting a location for the unit, inspect the wall and
floor areas to determine that there are no hidden electri-
cal wires, propane or other flammable gas-liquid piping or
tubing, ducts, girders, or wall studs that will interfere with
the installation of the unit or its utility connections.

the exterior louver cannot be blocked with
leaves, snow, water or debris (applies to all
units).
** Obstruction may be closer if return air is not
blocked between floor and bottom of unit, and
if obstruction is removable to allow a minimum
of 36” for service access.
