Getting Started
Introduction
The iPOS 3100 is an electronic payment terminal offering powerful point-of-sale capabilities
allowing for streamlined transactions and back-office operations, reduced costs, and
enhanced customer service. The iPOS 3100 features:
• Large monochrome 1/4 VGA screen supporting line item display, advertisements,
logos, or other types of promotional message presentation.
• Pressure sensitive touchpad with protective screen guard
• Electronic signature capture and virtual PIN pad
• 3-Track Magnetic Stripe Reader (MSR) for credit and debit card reading
• 512KB RAM and 512KB Flash memory
• RS-232 and RS-485 (IBM Tailgate) connectivity
• Advanced signature compression capability
• Support for peripherals such as Smart Card modules, check readers, printers, and
scanners
• iPOS 3100 Software Suite for Windows and IBM-based host environments. Based
on OPOS or JPOS industry standards, the Software Suite allows developers to use
C/C++ or VB to integrate the iPOS 3100 into the store payment system.
