FILLING AND DRAINING HEATING AND
DOMESTIC HOT WATER SYSTEMS
FILLING THE HEATING SYSTEM
See diagram in fig. 4 showing the various reference components.
After making the water connections, fill the heating system.
Do this when the system is cold as follows:
- open the cap of the automatic air vent (
A ) by two or three turns
- make sure that the cold water inlet tap ( B ) is open
- open the filling stopcock ( C ) until the pressure on the heat-water
gauge (fig. 5) is between 1 and 1,5 bar.
Then close the filling tap.
As the boiler features an efficient air separator, no manual operations
are required.
The burner only ignites if the air has finished venting.
DRAINING THE HEATING SYSTEM
To drain the heating system proceed as follows:
- switch off the boiler
- loosen the boiler drainage valve (
D )
- empty out the bottom parts of the system.
DRAINING THE DOMESTIC HOT WATER SYSTEM
If there is the risk of freezing, drain the domestic hot water system as
follows:
- close the general water tap
- open all the hot and cold water taps
- empty out the bottom parts of the system.
ATTENTION
The safety valve outlet must be connected to an appropriate drainage
system.
The manufacturer will not be held liable for eventual flooding due to
interfering with the safety valve.
