Changing the call code (CTCSS)
Normally, all calls on the selected channel are sent to all radios that are in
receiving range. You may therefore also hear calls that are not intended
for you when other people are using radios on the same channel in the
vicinity. In order to prevent this, it is possible to define a call code. In total,
there are 38 of these codes available. This code is shown in the display
after the channel. Check between yourselves which code has been
selected.
1. Press
the
MENU
button twice. The current call code indicator will
flash in the display.
2.
A new code between 0 and 38 can now be selected using the
+
and
buttons. If code 0 is selected, all calls will be received on
the selected channel.
3.
Confirm the selection with the talk button
.

Note:
-
The selected channel and the call code must correspond for you
to be able to talk to one another.
-
The radio remembers the last call code used for each channel.
Always check the call code as well when you change channel.
4.5 Monitor
function
To find out whether the selected channel is being used by others, press
and hold the
button. You will now also be able to hear distant and
quiet calls.
