pH-value of cold water

Calcium concentration (CA

Bicarbonate concentration (HCO

Moisture content, unhumidified air (X

) = 0.0023 kg/kg
Moisture content, humidified air (X
2
)
= 0.0110 kg/kg
The bleed-off factor f
b
= 0.3 can be read from the water quality chart.
Evaporation (E) = 2.4 · 60 · 1.2 · (0.0110 – 0.0023) = 1.50 l/min
Bleed-off (B) = f
b
· E = 0.3 · 1.50 = 0.45 l/min
Total water consumption (T) = E + B = 1.50 + 0.45 = 1.95 l/min

Water Quality Chart
2.4 Water quality - water consumption
2.4.1 Humidification by circulated water
The total water consumption is the sum of the water eva-
porated (E) and the water bleed-off (B). This bleed-off is the
constant draw-off flow that is necessary to keep the concen-
tration of minerals in the tray at an acceptable level.
2.3 Electrical connections
Before wiring the humidifer, remove the humidifier casettes
and run the power supply cables through the casing to the
humidifier pump and the solenoid valve. The cables must
not be run above or through the inspection door. A safety
isolating switch for the appropriate rated output and cur-
rent tabulated on page 6 (Section 4.1: Electrical data) must
precede the electrical components.
Check that the pump rotates in the correct direction.
2.2 Solenoid valve
Built-in component of humidifiers controlled in two
stages.
2.5
Type of installation
If the air is highly polluted, a fine filter should be included in
the installation. Use in plants in which the air contains cellulose
dust or similar organic pollutants should be avoided.
2.4.2 Water bleed-off factor
The bleed-off factor (f
b
) can be obtained from the water
quality chart below if the water quality is known, see the
example below. If not, an analysis of the water can be made,
however it is often simpler to request analysis data from your
local municipal water authority.
If the water bleed-off factor is more than 2, it is advisable to
use once-through water instead of circulated water. As an
alternative, the water can be treated. However, don't use any
softening agent or any type of lime inhibitor in the water.
