Laying and fixing
1. Plug the adapter into the thread of ignition or glow plug
2. Lay the hose of the display unit in the vicinity of the crankshaft pulley, so that it can
be observed during the rotation of the crankshaft.
3. The display unit can be attached at the strut with a magnet.
DTC finding (Part 1 of 2)
1. Slowly turn the crankshaft in the direction
of rotation until the piston in the display unit move
first up and then moves down. Once the piston
has reached the lower position, mark with e.g.
paint marker, the pulley in the 6 clock position.
2. Rotate the crankshaft 1 ¾ turns.
The marking of the pulley is now in the 3-clock
position
3. Rotate the crankshaft ¼ turn evenly and very
slowly until the piston in the display unit moves up
and then down. When the piston of the display
unit reaches the down position, mark the position
of the pulley marking on the front of the engine
4. Rotate the crankshaft 1 ¾ turns.
The marking of the pulley is now again in the 3-
clock
position
