Console Port
The console port interface conforms to the RS-232 electrical specification and locates
on the front panel. This interface supports asynchronous data of eight data bits, one stop
bit, and no parity bit. The unit only operates at 9600bps rates with RS-232 cable in
system configure.
Network Connection
All ports of this switch support Auto-MDI/MDI-X. So you can connect any device
(including PC, Switch, Hub) to a port of this switch via a regular cable. The RJ-45 port will
auto-detect and auto-switch to the correct MDI/MDI-X mode. (Do not need to connect to
a specific uplink port or cross-over cable)
Connect one end of the network cable to the RJ-45 port on the front panel, and connect
the other end of the network cable to the RJ-45 port on the network device. Follow the
same procedure to connect all the RJ-45 ports of the switch. Maximum length, using UTP
cable, between the switch and connected device is 100 meters (300ft). Once the network
cable is connected to both ends and the attached network device is powered on, the
LINK/ACT LED should be lit.
Note: Make sure the wiring is correct. You need to use Category 3/4/5 cable for 10Mbps
operation or Category 5 cable for 100/1000Mbps connections.
