To determine the size wire required to operate your winch you must first calculate the resisitance from the following formula:

= 2000 = ohms / 1,000 ft

where:

Total resistance in ohms / 1,000 ft

D =

Total distance the electric current must travel, i.e. distance from battery -ve terminal to motor added to distance from battery
+ve to solenoids.

340 (Husky 5254) or 180 (Husky 5255)

Now select the wire gauge from the table opposite.

Note that the connectors must be to suit 8mm studs and the selected wire gauge.
