Chapter 3: Maintenance and Component Installation

3.7 Storage Drives

The CSE-515B-R601W chassis supports two internal 2.5" storage drives in drive carriers 

to simplify their removal from the chassis. These carriers also help promote proper airflow. 

Note: 

Enterprise level hard disk drives are recommended for use in Supermicro chassis and 

servers. For information on recommended HDDs, visit the Supermicro website at 

http://www.

Installing 2.5" Drives

1. Remove power as described in Section 3.1 and remove the chassis cover.

2. If necessary, remove the PCI expansion card from the chassis.

3. Remove the drive brackets from the chassis. Insert the drive into the drive brackets and 

secure the drive to the bracket with screws, as shown below.
