Chapter 2: Installation
DIMM Installation
1. Insert the desired number of DIMMs into
the memory slots, there is no specific
sequence or order required
.
2. Push the release tab outwards on one
end of the DIMM slot to unlock it.
3. Align the Key of the DIMM module with
the Receptive Point on the memory slot.
4. Align one Notch on one end of the
DIMM module against the Notch Catch
of the socket (this is the end without a
release tab). Insert this end first, then
follow with the other end, making sure
the Receptive Point and the Key are
aligned.
5. With one end of the DIMM module
secure into the Notch Catch, press the
opposite end (with the lever) into the
slot until the module snaps securely into
place.
6. Lock the release tab to the locked
position to secure the DIMM module in
the slot.
DIMM Removal
Press the release tab on one end of the DIMM
module to unlock it. Once the DIMM module
is loosened, remove it from the memory slot,
by gently puling this end upwards.
