Installation/Removal

Accessing the Drive Bays

SATA/SCSI Drives: Because of their hotswap capability, you do not need to access

the inside of the chassis or power down the system to install or replace SATA/SCSI

drives. Proceed to the next step for instructions.

Note:

You must use standard 3.5" SATA/SCSI drives in the 1040C-T/1040C-8.

DVD-ROM/Floppy Disk Drives: For installing/removing a DVD-ROM or ﬂ oppy disk

drive, you will need to gain access to the inside of the system by removing the top

cover of the chassis. Proceed to the "DVD-ROM and Floppy Drive Installation"

section later in this chapter for instructions.

Note:

Only "slim" DVD-ROM and ﬂ oppy drives will ﬁ t into the 1040C-T/1040C-8.
