IMPORTANT:
DO NOT USE YOUR WHEELCHAIR UNTIL THIS
MANUAL HAS BEEN READ AND
UNDERSTOOD.
Use
Wheelchairs are exclusively for an adult or child who is
unable to walk or has limited mobility, for their own
personal use, when self-propelling and use with help
(pushed by attendant) within the home and outdoors.
The maximum weight limit (includes both the user
and any weight of accessories fitted to the
wheelchair) is marked on the serial number label,
which is affixed to the cross-tube or cross-brace
under the seat.
Warranty can only be issued if the product is used under
the specified conditions and for the intended purpose.
The intended lifetime of the wheelchair is 5 years.
NO NON-STANDARD PARTS are to be fitted, other than
those officially approved by Sunrise Medical.
The load-bearing components of this wheelchair are
manufactured from carbon (correct designation: carbon
fibre reinforced plastic or CFRP). Carbon fibre is a high-
strength material that is used for conditions requiring
extreme load-bearing capacity with minimal weight.
Our carbon components are manually produced -
irregularities in the weave, unevenness in the surface or
small air pockets are purely visual and have no impact on
stability.
Carbon has some different features compared to metal or
other plastics which should be considered for normal use.
CAUTION!
Carbon can be damaged from overloading (impacts or
shocks which go beyond usual use such as: Falls, tipping
over or dropping the wheelchair. Overloading may
damage the carbon fibres or lead to delamination
(separation of the fibre layers or separation of the fibres
from the resin).
Often, this damage cannot be identified externally and
may lead to reduced load-bearing capability or breaking
of components in extreme cases.
