The air conditioner is cooling, but the room is 
too warm - NO ice is forming on the cooling 
coil behind the decorative front.

The air 

fi

 lter may be dirty and restricting air - 

clean 

fi

 lter.

The thermostat may be set too warm - turn the 
thermostat to a cooler setting.
The air directional louvers may be positioned 
improperly - position louvers for better air 
distribution.
The front of the air conditioner may be blocked 
by drapes, blinds, furniture, etc., restricting air 
distribution - clean blockages in front of the air 
conditioner.
Doors, windows, registers, etc., may be open 
letting cold air escape - close anything that is 
open.
The air conditioner may have recently been 
turned on it a hot room - allow additional time to 
remove “stored heat” from walls, ceilings,

 oor, 

and furniture. 

The air conditioner makes noise when cooling.

Air movement sound - this is normal.  If the 
sound is too loud, turn selector to lower FAN 
setting.

There is water dripping INSIDE when the air 
conditioner is cooling.

The unit may be installed improperly.  Tilt the air 
conditioner slightly to the outside to allow water 
drainage.  Refer to installation instructions for 
proper installation.

There is water dripping OUTSIDE when the air 
conditioner is cooling.

The air conditioner is removing a large quantity 
of moisture from a humid room.  This is normal 
during excessively humid days.

The room is too cold.

The thermostat is set too high.  Set to a lower 
number on the temperate dial.

The air conditioner turns on and off rapidly.

The outside temperature may be extremely hot 
- set to high cool to bring air past cooling coils 
more frequently.
