4.16 Exposure of the solar water heater to the sun
After completion of the installation, remove the opaque cover from the solar
collector. Under these conditions, the solar heater starts to operate on a sunny day.
Please check
• the closed loop for any leaks
• the proper operation of the solar water heater
On a cloudy day, the inspection for leaks of the closed system and the proper
operation of the solar water heater can not be performed. Please return on a sunny
day for these tasks.
4.17 Additional installation tasks
It is important for the reliable operation of the solar water heater to perform the
following tasks
• Insulate the hot and cold water pipes for higher efficiency and protection
against frost.
• Fix the pipes onto the floor surface as well as onto the walls, to avoid
problems appearing during operation of the solar water heater
• It is recommended that the insulation, covering the pipes, is either shielded
from the solar radiation by appropriate material or it must be painted with
special paint, so as to avoid degradation.
CAUTION
If the pressure of the water coming from the city network exceeds the value
quoted on the label of the storage tank, you must install a pressure reducer
device at the inlet of the city water and after the meter of the water utility
company, according to the regulations in force for plumbing installations. It
is emphasized that the storage tank is designed to withstand the pressure
specified on its label and you are covered by the warranty for pressure up to
this value.
