Installation

This chapter provides instructions for installing the A3500/A3500FC controller
module into an expansion cabinet. These step-by-step procedures guide you through
the entire installation process, beginning with cabinet preparation and ending with
system record-keeping information.

This chapter does not include instructions for installing and configuring the Sun
StorEdge RAID Manager software. Once the controller module is operational, refer
to the Sun StorEdge RAID Manager Installation and Support Guide and the Sun StorEdge
RAID Manager User’s Guide for instructions on installing and using the storage
management software to configure, monitor, and troubleshoot the disk arrays on
your system.

Note –

Some default software parameters (such as RAID level, drive groups, and

caching) are set at the factory prior to shipment. Before you attempt to store data on
your system, use the Sun StorEdge RAID Manager software to determine the current
status and configuration of your system and to reconfigure your system if necessary.
Refer to the Sun StorEdge RAID Manager manuals for further instructions.
