1.2 SCSI and FC-AL Components
The controller module contains or uses several SCSI or FC-AL components to
connect to the host system. These components include the following:

Two SCSI array controllers or two FC-AL array controllers
■
One controller card cage (includes controller back panel)
■
Two host SCSI bus cables or two fibre optic cables
■
Five-drive tray SCSI cables
■
Up to four SCSI terminators
1.2.1 Array Controllers
The controller module contains two array controllers: two SCSI controllers or two
FC-AL controllers. Each controller comes in a removable, portable canister that goes
into one of two slots on the front of the controller module. The canisters have two
locking handles and an opening for viewing the controller LEDs (
FIGURE 1-5
