Distributed Management Card Ports
2. Determine if it is safe to remove the distributed management card.

If system power is off or if the distributed management card’s blue hot-swap LED
is on, go to
. Refer to
for the location of the hot-swap LED.
■
If system power is on and the distributed management card’s blue hot-swap LED
is off, follow these instructions to put the DMC into a “safe” state:
a. Partially unlatch the card’s ejector.
Do not fully open the ejector as this moves the board out of the enclosure and
breaks its midplane connection before the board can shut down properly.
b. Wait for the blue hot-swap LED to light.
This can take several seconds depending on the amount of data that must be
synchronized.
3. Fully open the ejector handle, rotating it outward until the board disengages from
the midplane (
