a drawer installed below the cooktop.  Failure to provide proper clearances and 
ventilation may result in a fire hazard.

Note

 

:  When making the countertop, put a radius at the corners of the cutout (¼" 

radius is typical).  This will keep the countertop from cracking.  Follow the 
countertop manufacturer's instructions regarding the minimum corner 
radius and reinforcement of corners.

Installing the Cooktop 

The cooktop should be bedded to the countertop using a soft bedding compound 
that will prevent damage if later removal for service is necessary.  A very small 
bead of silicone sealant should be laid around the edges of the cutout.  

 

 
Attach the two mounting brackets supplied with the SUMMIT cooktop to the 
bottom surface of the cooktop.  The brackets are to be mounted on opposite 
sides.  Center the brackets along the long edges of the cooktop and secure with 
long self-tapping screws so they will be flush with the countertop when the 
cooktop is put into position.  Place the cooktop in the cutout opening and press 
firmly on all sides to seal the frame into the bedding compound.  Turn the 
brackets so that each forms a bridge between the bottom of the cutout and the 
bottom of the cooktop.  Tighten the screws.  The brackets are designed to hold
