BASE INSTALLATION WITH LATCH

(LOWER ANCHORS) (CONT.)

CHECK

to make sure base is secure by holding both sides of the base near the belt

guides and moving from side to side and front to back. The

LATCH

belt should not

loosen or move easily. The base should not move more than 1 inch (2.54cm) from side

to side or front to back. IF base moves too much, open arm, tighten strap a little more,

then try again. If base still moves try another seating location or installation method.

CHECK

the level indicator to make sure the base is correctly reclined.

IF IT IS NOT

properly reclined, turn the handle and open the Belt Tensioning Arm, remove the

LATCH

hooks and adjust the foot on the base then re-install base.

CHECK

that the base is

properly reclined. Refer to Adjust the Recline Angle, p. 77.
