General information
1.1
Device description
The AGZ 3 is a fast-acting ionizing gun for neutralizing charged objects and for removing dust and particles
accumulated on objects due to electrostatic charge.
The built-in high-voltage generator induces a high potential at the emitter (ionizing) needle. This results in
AC corona discharge, which produces an equal number of both positive and negative ions. The compressed
air current then transports the ions to the object, where they neutralize any existing charges.
This air ionizer gun is suitable for cleanroom operation (Class 100).

Safety instructions
CAUTION
The ionizing gun is an industrial product and must be operated only by suitably
trained and qualified persons.
CAUTION
This device works with high voltage. To prevent injuries and physical damage,
observe the applicable instructions and regulations and use the device only for its
intended purpose and as described in the operating instructions.
CAUTION
This device is not explosion-proof. It must not be used in areas in which flammable
gasses, vapors or liquids may be present.
CAUTION
This device must not be used in areas in which it can come in contact with water or
oil. Do not operate the device in hot or humid locations (over 40 °C, 70% RH) and
avoid sudden changes in temperature, which can cause condensation to form.
CAUTION
The device must be opened for maintenance purposes only by suitably qualified
persons.
CAUTION
The AGZ 3 contains a high-voltage generator, which is very sensitive to physical
impacts. Do not drop the device or expose it to impacts.
CAUTION
For cleaning and maintenance work, or if any mechanical damage is apparent or the
device appears to be defective, immediately disconnect the device from its power
supply.
CAUTION
The device must not be used for any purpose other than the neutralization of
electrostatically charged objects. It must be used only in areas for which no special
safety measures are specified.
CAUTION
Do not operate the device with excessive air pressure (more than 0.6 MPa or 6 bar),
as this could damage it. If necessary, use a pressure reducing valve.
CAUTION
The supplied air must be clean (free from particles) and free from oil and water, as
these could damage or destroy the device). If necessary, fit a particle filter and an oil
or water separator.
