IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

For use with Total Performance System
handpieces.
WARNING:
Before using any tPS component,
read and understand its instructions and review the
important User/Patient Safety information provided in
the tPS Console instruction booklet. Familiarization
with the total Performance System prior to use is
important. If you have any questions, contact your
Stryker Instruments representative or Stryker Customer
Service at 1-800-253-3210.
WARNING:
Prior to use, inspect for damage.
Do not use if damage is apparent.
WARNING:
Place handswitch in SAFE position
while changing cutting accessory.

for instrument care
information.
Installation
NOTE:
Cord must be removed from
handpiece to install handswitch.
1.
Slide safety switch to SAFE position. Figure 1.
2.
Align white dots and press handswitch band over end of
handpiece. Figure 1.
NOTE:
Handswitch band must be flush with handpiece so cord
can seat properly. Figure 2.
3.
Plug cord into handpiece. Figure 3.
4.
Adjust finger rest as needed. Figure 3. the handpiece can be
held like a pencil. Figure 4.
NOTE:
When using the handswitch with the tPS Oscillating saw,
the finger rest must be either fully extended or retracted.
Instructions
1.
Slide safety switch to RUN position.
2.
Depress lever to regulate variable handpiece speed.
NOTE:
Maximum speed setting is selected on console.
WARNING:
Always put the safety switch into the safety
position to prevent inadvertent running of the handpiece.
To remove:
1.
Place safety switch in SAFE position.
2.
Remove cord.
3.
Grasp band portion of handswitch and slide off back of
handpiece taking care not to pull back on lever.

Troubleshooting
Problem
Cause
Solution
Handswitch does not work.
Not properly seated on handpiece.
Safety switch in SAFE position.
Reseat.
Place safety switch in RUN position.
Motor does not reach full
speed.
User may be sideloading switch.
Depress lever centered against
handpiece.
