11.2 Crossbike range
11.2.1 Before driving
WARNING
Always remove the key for the key switch when
parking the power assist device to prevent
unauthorized use of the device. Before starting
the journey, make sure that the battery is properly
engaged and locked. Remove the key and stow it
securely to prevent the lock from opening while
driving. Otherwise you risk loosening the battery
while driving.
Slide the battery onto the holder from above and
lock it with the key. You can check the charge level
using the charge level indicator on the battery ( Fig.
32 ).

Switch on the battery using the main switch on the
battery. Turn the key switch on the control with the
key to the “ON” position. You can only remove the
key from the control unit when it is switched off.
Close the closure of the charging and USB ports so
that no dirt and water can get in. The USB port is
not intended for charging USB devices. Please use
the USB port on the display for this. ( Fig. 38 )
