You will need a standard service tool kit for most procedures. You may also
need the following items listed in
Table 4-1 :
An optional detached maintenance device, such as a laptop computer, is
required to:
• Load microcode
• Access the fault symptom code (FSC) directory
• Connect for remote maintenance through a modem or external cable
Many screws require Torx screwdriver bits:
• 6-32 requires a Torx T-15 bit
• 6-32 flathead requires a Torx T-10 bit
• 10-32 requires a Torx T-25 bit
• 1/4-20 requires a Torx T-30 bit
• 4-40 pan head requires a Torx T-10 bit
• 4-40 flathead requires a Torx T-09 bit

Before Beginning
• Read the safety and ESD instructions in “Safety” on page xxi .
• If removing and replacing Fibre Channel components, read the information
in
“Fiber Optic Safety” on page xxviii .
• Perform the following steps before accessing a FRU in the library.
CAUTION:
Possible injury to person: While reaching inside the library, take care to
avoid bumping your head or catching your clothing on protruding edges.
