Remove shroud from bosses at
rewind starter side.

•

Take out screws (1) at clutch
side.

•

Remove the shroud (2).

Checking

•

Pull vent hose (1) off the
valve cover.

•

Pull ignition lead (2) and short
circuit wire (3) out of the
retainers.

•

Take out the screws (1).

•

Remove the valve cover (2).

•

Remove the gasket.

- Remove clutch housing with dri-

ve tube -

•

Rotate flywheel until blade
recess (1) lines up with the
projection (2) on the cam gear
cover (piston at T.D.C.).

Note: If the exhaust valve opens
while you are turning the flywheel
to T.D.C., rotate flywheel counter-
clockwise until the recess and
projection line up again.

•

Insert feeler gauge (1) between
rocker arm and valve stem.

Inlet valve (2): 0.12
