8.

Landing Gear Pocket -

 Fit part F9 (sheet 08/08, 1/32 in. ply) into the slots in the fuselage 

sides, immediately 

behind

 former F5.  

Note:  

The slots are oversized to accommodate F9 

and F10.  F9 will rest in the 

front

 portion of the slots.

9.

Fit F10 (sheet 08/08, 1/32 in. ply) immediately behind F9.  Make sure both F9 and F10 are 

fully seated, then glue with CA around the edges, to bond in place.  

Note:  Ensure that no 

glue enters the landing gear pocket.

Fit and bond the fuselage doublers, parts F11 (sheet 04/08, 1/20 in. balsa) to the inside of 

the 

right

 and 

left

 fuselage sides, between formers F10 and F4.  Place both F11s so that the 

arrows on each are pointing 

forward

.

Rear Fuselage -

 Fit and “tack glue” former F12 (sheet 03/08, 1/20 in. balsa) between the 

rear

 fuselage sides.  Ensure that the “Top” etching on F12 faces 

up

.

Assemble the fuselage 

bottom

 F13 from parts F13a and F13b (sheet 03/08, 1/20 in. balsa).  

Refer to the 

Fuselage Bottom Detail

 drawing on 

Detail Sheet 1 of 2

.  Fit and “tack glue” F13 

to the 

bottom

 of the fuselage.

13.

Turn the fuselage upright, and square it against the work surface.  Ensure that the 

rear

 of 

the fuselage sides are aligned with each other, and that they are vertical.  Tape them 

together at the 

rear,

 using low-tack masking tape.  “Final bond” the fuselage with CA.

14.

Fit and bond the notched formers F14, F15 (sheet 02/08, 1/20 in. balsa), and F16 (sheet 

04/08, 1/20 in. balsa) to the notches in the

 top

 of the 

rear

 fuselage.  Refer to

 Detail Sheet 1 

of 2

 for their proper location.

15.

Fit the stringers, parts 1, 2, and 3 (sheet 04/08, 1/20 in balsa) to the notches in formers F6, 

F14, F15, and F16.  Stringer 1 will rest in the 

center

 notches: Stringer 2 will fit in the 

notches on each side of stringer 1;  Stringer 3 will fit in the notches on each side of stringer 

2.  Bond with CA.

16.

Front Fuselage -

 Turn the fuselage 

upside down

.  Fit F17 (sheet 04/08, 1/20 in. balsa) to 

the notches in the fuselage sides immediately 

behind

 the landing gear pocket, and to the 

tabs on F10 of the landing gear pocket.  Bond with CA.  

Note:  Ensure that no glue enters 

the landing gear pocket.
